Correcting Ilan
Posted by Michael Cohen

Below Ilan notes a supposed mistake by Joe Lieberman about Al Qaeda and Iran:

If we did what Sen. Obama wanted us to do last year, Al-Qaeda in Iran would be in control of Iraq today.

Oops!  There's no such thing as Al Qaeda in Iran!

Forgive me for exposing DA's dirty laundry in public but Ilan really is confused here. You see, Iran hates America. And Al Qaeda hates America, thus . . . since Al Qaeda and Iran have the same objective, they are in effect one and the same.

Before you think this is some crazy notion - keep in mind, this was a key argument that the Administration made in support of going to war against Iraq.

In defense of Ilan . . .
(Cripes, I never thought I'd write that.)

According to General Odom's recent testimony on the Hill, al Qaeda and Cheney, not Iran, have the same goal thus . . . since Al Qaeda and Cheney have the same objective, they are in effect one and the same. And you might as well throw in General Petraeus because his arming and financing of Iraqi Sunnis (the "Awakening") allies himself with the goals of al Qaeda Sunnis v. Iranian Shiites.

Odom: ". . . take note of the al Qaeda public diplomacy campaign over the past year or so on internet blogs. They implore the United States to bomb and invade Iran and destroy this apostate Shiite regime. As an aside, it gives me pause to learn that our vice president and some members of the Senate are aligned with al Qaeda on spreading the war to Iran."--General William Odom

I tell you, this American Empire stuff gets confusing. I hope I've clarified things. Bottom line: When most of the world hates the US we mustn't conclude that they all have the same objectives.
