Conservative Gun Laws

We aren't arming the "Sons of Iraq".  Every Iraqi is allowed one AK-47 in their home by law.  Oh lord.

That jumped out at me, too. It's a wonder anybody is left alive over there.

In the days just after the invasion, I seem to recall that an effort was made to disarm the populace, but that it was quickly abandoned following massive protests. The preservation of the dignity of Iraqi manhood apparently required that said Iraqis keep their precious guns. The Bush team, ever sensitive to the plight of gun owners everywhere, agreed to let the occupied population remain armed against their occupiers.
