Colin Powell Endorses Obama Posted by James Lamond

On Meet the Press today, former JCOS and Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama for president. 

Secretary Powell said that John McCain was “unsure” how to deal with the economic crisis and that the pick of Sarah Palin, who is not ready to be president, as a running-mate shows a lack of judgment on McCain’s part. 

Even John McCain who described Powell as, “a man who I admire as much as any man in the world, person in the world,” cannot deny the importance of this endorsement.  Powell was reportedly considered as a running mate for senator McCain and is a man that John McCain has repeatedly expressed a great deal of respect for.

Powell doesn't have any business endorsing any one candidate. As I recall, Powell had the final say about what intelligence would be used to present to the U.N.. Powell chose fraudulent intelligence instead of choosing legitimate intelligence. He was as responsible as anyone else for misleading the country and for that matter, the world community.

I would like to see Powell discuss some real facts for once instead of fraudulent ones. Like these facts that are true. What do you have to say about these Mr. Powell? We are at war and everyone should question whether Obama has the integrity and ability to lead this nation at this time. And, would he keep this country safe, or will his affiliations with radicals/terrorist lead to more devastation? In my opinion, I don't believe he has what it takes. Let me explain another connection to a radical/terrorist. In 2006, Obama campaigned for a relative in Kenya, who was running for the Presidency. Obama's cousins name is Raila Odinga. Subsequently, Odinga lost by 230,000 or so votes. He did not accept the loss. So he called for demonstrations by his political supporters who in turn committed ethnic cleansing and genocide. Point blank, this guy tried to subvert the election process and use blackmail until he got what he wanted. And Obama, used U.S. taxpayer money for this and his Senatorial position to help this terrorist. I feel that Powell is tired and not thinking clearly. Bill Ayers was protesting and conducting attacks against our country when he was serving. I always liked Powell but now he discust me. Both of my Granfather's served this county in several wars, I have always respected there service. I have lost all respect for Powell and think he has also lost respect for him-self. This endorsment was made clearly from Powell's race... not his real views.

I would like to say Colin Powell should NOT be offered any position in an Obama government.Powell failed the most crucial test of his life in giving that UN speech.His choice: loyalty to country and refuse to give it, OR loyalty to the Bush team and present the bogus "evidence". Powell chose to be a "team player", something that had carried him far and in the process let his country down.It was a tough test of character, and Powell flunked it....
